Moku
The island of Oahu has 6 original moku (districts): Koʻolauloa, Koʻolaupoko, Kona, ʻEwa, Waiʻanae, and Waialua. The moku that I am from is ʻEwa. There are many differences between the different districts of this island. The word ʻEwa means "crooked" in Hawaiian. This name was given to the district by the gods Kane and Kānaloa. ʻEwa is made up of many different cities and buildings. One of the main places that ʻEwa is known for is Puʻuloa. Puʻuloa is known for its abundance of seafood and for itʻs guardian fish goddess, Kaihuopalaʻai, shark goddess, Kaʻahupahau, and itʻs moʻo goddess, Kanekuaʻana.
