Ahupuaʻa
The ahupuaʻa that I live in is Ewa Beach. One of the main things that Ewa Beach is known for is its burning temperatures throughout the day. The highest recorded temperature was 93 degrees and the lowest was 49 degrees. On average, the hottest month of the year is August and the coolest is February. Throughout Ewa Beach, there are only two private schools: Our Lady of Perpetual Help School and Lanakila Baptist. In the census of 2010, there were 3,298 households of Ewa and about 50% of these households had children under the age of 18 living in them. Ewa has had many exciting events in its past. For example, in 2005, the little league team brought home the Little League World Champion title from their tournament in Pennsylvania. ʻEwa also has many bright things ahead in the future. There is one major project being worked on in ʻEwa, the new shopping mall. This mall is estimated to finish in 2016 and is going to be about the size of uptown Pearlridge.
